  Shaping the Stone

Destination India...
Once the rough are procured, they touch down in India, to our cutting factories in Mumbai. Our two manufacturing units have been set up to process the full range of diamonds - from the larger better quality stones to the lower varieties. Together both units have the capacity to process 75000+ carats annually! This along with the sheer range of products puts us well into the big league of diamond manufacturers in India.

Cutting Edge Technology
Diamonds at Sur Gems have that extra edge that comes from being cut and polished by state-of-the-art technology. In fact our factory in Mumbai is rated one of the Best. Throughout our existence  we have been quick to adopt the latest in manufacturing technology and our factories are fully equipped with the most advanced equipment including Sarin and Lexus planners, super auto bruters, Bentonville automatic blockers and laser sawing machines. The soon-to-be-installed laser bruters and shape cutting machines will be the newest additions to this high tech set up.

Once the roughs are cut and polished, the stones are put through a tried and tested assortment preparation procedure. Through this the stones are sized, then assorted as per quality, colour and as per the requirement of our clients and selling affiliates. Our affiliates cater to a range of quality, cut and colour of diamonds and so procedures are carried accordingly to suit individual needs globally.

Mirage Creation :
In our Mumbai factory, the latest technological innovations are used to create high-end, high fashion and custom designed jewellery. Here skilled craftsmen who have been meticulously trained, set the stones in a variety of settings in innovating design - an example of which is an invisible setting of a host of diamonds on a curved surface.

Summit Jewels :
Geared towards a market for the range of medium price point jewellery, this unit focuses on providing program-related manufacturing to support our retail customers. The main products are pairs, three stone rings, pendants, fashion and bridal at the medium end using SI2-I2 range of diamonds in princess, prong and channel settings.

EZ fit :
The final piece of the whole, this unit has its focus on basic low end items using I2 to promotional qualities. this is a mass production set up with an emphasis on low price point items - bracelets, pendants and fashion rings using wax setting.

All the factories have the capability for hightech CAD CAM as well as skilled hand-craftsmanship to deliver all kinds of designs, from mass manufactured to high end individually crafted pieces, Together over 600 people are engaged in operations spread over 25000 sq ft. Our experienced design department ensures we have an ongoing insight into changing consumer tastes. This keeps us ahead of trends and develop regional designs, our team also work closely with the customer to deliver made-to-order designs.
